Bloomberg’s Businessweek Research Services and Forbes insights tell the same story.

Big multi-million enterprises like Adobe Systems, eBay, Hewlett-Packard, T-mobile, and Mercedes-AMG have once decided to stop and think and then make a tough step. They have turned digital when it is needed. However, before these Fortune500 companies integrated wholly in digital, they have decided what their starting point first.

In the American Express’ monthly article entitled “The difference between success and failure is going digital,” they expounded the limitless opportunities in turning digital – from small to big enterprises. When faced with an opportunity, they ride the wave not go against it. As Economic Times cited, we need to take advantage of the flexibility of the digital platform. It is smart to make sure investments to be digital first – whether it is customer experience, internal processes, sales, or customer data collection – one thing or another, a company should make the firm decision to transform.



American Express on total digital transformation

Regarding the transformation, it was reiterated by the American Express that going digital is not a substitution, but a complete transformation.

This transformation focuses on internal process (i.e., documents management, HR, IT, etc.) up to the external processes where the customer analytics is and so on. Having this whole transformation, real and substantial results will definitely impact the business.

As a matter of fact, referencing Capgemini Consulting, companies that are successful at going digital have 26 percent higher profitability, regardless of the industry. Going digital means acceleration of product development, drives innovation, and dramatically cuts costs.

“Organizations and their leaders need to hit the reset button on how they use technology to drive market differentiation, deepen customer relationships, and deliver growth and profitability,” said Paul Daugherty, Accenture’s Chief Technology Officer, in a statement. “The power and reach of converging IT trends such as mobility and cloud means that business leader need to understand the implications of a software-driven, ‘connected everything’ world,” he added.

The question for the enterprises is not “why” use the cloud but “how” should we use it. Companies going digital prioritize an electronic Document Management System.
